Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an actor, journalist, philanthropist and author for more than ten years. She is also the owner of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. Originally from Greece she moved to England when she was 16 and was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. She was the first person from outside the UK to become the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. Being a conservative syndicated blog, after graduating she was able to be the voice of Huffington Post. Her popularity helped her to convince several celebrities to contribute their opinion about current affairs, as well as politics and culture. Arianna rose to fame in 2003 when she decided to stand for a non-partisan position during the California recall election in order to succeed then Governor Davis. Alongside this, she was the leader of a Detroit project that promoted the use of fuel-efficient cars. Her name was voted as the most influential women in media according to Forbes in 2009, gaining 12th position on this list. In the same year Guardian listed her among the top 100 media list. AOL acquired The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. She was then made the president of AOL's media group. It included a number of AOL-owned properties, such as Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and management consultant Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. Although she had a close relationship to her father, her connection to her mom shaped the course of her entire life. She was a leader even in her early years. At the age of 16, she moved from the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. When she was in college and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the colleges debating societies, and eventually was its first foreign female president. In 1972, she graduated with the degree of Master in Economics. She became a writer, a critic as well as a host on TV as well as a columnist following her graduation. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
